Origin and geology

The Clara mine is known for its exceptional fluorite finds and has made a name for itself among collectors worldwide. The area encompasses many old tunnels, the former open-cast mines and today's actual Clara pit, which is now accessed via two mouth holes. Barite and ores were once mined, which were transported down into the valley by cable car. 

Besides barite, the most sought-after mineral in the Clara mine is fluorite. Numerous shapes, excellent quality, abundant crystal sizes and the attractive combinations with other minerals make it a very appealing mineral.
