This specimen impresses with its elegant restraint - and its powerful expression in detail. The base is formed by a dark, shiny sphalerite matrix, deep brown to almost black, with a metallic shimmer. Several smaller but intensely coloured fluorite cubes are distributed over it in an ideal balance - perfectly crystallized, of a rich violet color and with fascinating, almost sculptural surface structures.
Sphalerite - a dramatic stage
The matrix itself is anything but a mere support: it has a dark, crystalline appearance with a slight metallic sheen that shimmers in different angles of light. Its irregular structure offers an exciting topography that guides the eye - towards the isolated color accents of the fluorite cubes. The depth and darkness of the sphalerite forms the perfect contrast to the bright colors of the fluorite.
Fluorite cubes - small but impressive
The fluorites sit on the matrix like gemstones: precisely grown, intensely colored and with a radiance that immediately catches the eye. Each crystal has a distinctive, almost abstract-looking surface structure. With an organic texture that breaks up the geometric basic body and gives it a lively appearance. The rich violet tones have a very strong effect on the dark base.
Harmony in the composition
What makes this piece special is the interplay of space and reduction. Instead of presenting an overloaded arrangement, it presents a minimalist elegance: the matrix as a stage, the fluorite cubes as targeted accents. This restraint does not appear weak - on the contrary: it draws the eye to every single detail, to the clarity of the cubes, to the structure of the surface, to the colors playing with the light.
Presentation - uncompromisingly high quality
For optimum presentation, we manufactured a custom-made base from transparent acrylic glass in-house. The simple shape elegantly elevates the piece and puts it on display. The engraving on the front states the origin and place of discovery - discreet but prominent.
Elmwood Mine - finest fluorite aesthetics from Tennessee
The Elmwood Mine not only supplies large, striking fluorites and other minerals - but also such aesthetic, finely composed pieces that are particularly appreciated by collectors with a sense of form and contrast. This specimen is exemplary of those “quiet stars” of the collection - pieces that shine not through size, but through expression and elegance.
For connoisseurs who love details
This piece is perfect for anyone who recognizes the appeal of reduction. The combination of powerful matrix, clear fluorite structure and exciting composition makes it an ideal showpiece for high-quality display cabinets. The cubes unfold their full presence, especially with targeted lighting.
